Terms of Sale & Installation – Ecowin Ltd. Products

1: Ecowin Ltd is hereafter referred to as the company.

2: You the buyer are here on referred to as the Customer or customer.

3: Ecowin Ltd.’s payment terms are as follows:

Supply only

  1. 50% upon order
  2. 50% due 1 week prior to dispatch

For supply only, your installation contract is between you the customer and the recommended installation team or your chosen installation team and any agreed terms.


Supply & Installation via Ecowin and appointed subcontracted installation team

  1. 50% upon order
  2. 50% due 1 week prior to dispatch

When your installation is via Ecowin and its appointed installation team, any product related or installation related snagging, does not negate the requirement to pay the installation costs as identified above in section 3 and any withholding of monies due negates any product warranties or call outs / call backs until the balance due has been settled.

4: Delivery of items are direct from our suppliers’ factories, delivered direct to the site address on the appointed hauliers’ trucks, unless Solarlux products (see below). Generally, there are no offload capabilities with these trucks and offloading is by others, Ecowin do review site locations via google maps and we will check access to site and roads leading up to site address and as a result, we may allow for a HiaB delivery. We do allow for an recommend a preinstall site visit by the appointed installation team, who would attend prior to the installation to review this amongst other aspects.

Solarlux deliveries are delivered direct to site and offloaded by Solarlux, please advise them where to offload as there is no one from Ecowin or from the installation team attending unless otherwise agreed in writing. The stillages will remain on site for until collected by Solarlux. Ecowin will look to confirm this date for collection with you asap.

If supply only, offloading is by others and a telehandler is recommended for the offloading and considerations for larger items should be made, as they will come preassembled up to approx. 7 metres in width.

  • If supply and install, our recommended installation team will organise for the telehandler, unless the delivery is via a HiaB or it has been agreed (in writing), that a telehandler will be available to use and supplied by you the customer.

5: The goods pass to the buyer when the Company has received payment in full in the case of supply only. This means that the goods remain the property of the company until such times as the full balance due has been paid for the goods including installation if supplied via Ecowin and its appointed installation team.

If payment has not been paid for in full prior to dispatch, we reserve the right to withhold collection of the goods at the factory and to counter charge for any additional costs for storage, transport, exchange rate fluctuations, labour costs and all other costs within reason related to the delay.

6: Ecowin Ltd reserves the right not to supply warranties and or guarantees on the ordered products until payment has been received in full, Ecowin will not attend site or process anything outstanding until any amounts outstanding have been paid.

7: Product risk passes when the goods are delivered to site for supply only, it is your responsibility to inspect the delivery prior to offloading or the appointed installation team if supply and install. The site being the location specified for the delivery of the goods as instructed by you the customer or your appointed representative. If full installation is being supplied by Ecowin’ s recommended installation team, the risk then passes when and after each window / door has been installed and the installation team have moved onto another opening, or the site is left unattended. Each window will be adjusted, tested and photographed/video supplied before moving onto the next item.

You must inspect the delivery “before” offloading (this is a visual check), you must photograph any damages once offloaded. If you see items that are damaged on the truck, please take photographs and if items are damaged, you then need to sign for the delivery and indicate “received with damages” on the delivery note. All photographic evidence should then be supplied to Ecowin Ltd within 48hrs.

If supply and installation is being utilised, the installation team will inspect the delivery.

8: Glass breakages on site after delivery and installation are not covered under warranty under any circumstances. Ecowin will report the issue to the supplier/glass manufacturer and advise you of their decision.

Any complaints for damages without the evidence being supplied as indicated above, will be rejected.

9: Protection of the windows after installation internally & externally, is the customers responsibility. Burden of proof of damages prior to delivery is the responsibility of the customer or the appointed installation team.

10: Your contract deposit can be paid with credit card or in full by bank transfer. All other balances due to the company can be paid by the same methods. Please speak to your credit card company and or review the information on the Financial ombudsmans website regarding credit card purchase protection. Business credit cards are not covered by section 75 protection.

11: Delivery and installation dates prior to order production are supplied in good faith and are purely estimates and cannot be relied upon. Delivery dates are subject to change, but we do not our best to meet the dates we supply.

Until production of the goods has been approved and a date supplied by the factory for production completion, we can only estimate the timescale based on information on production timescales known, which changes weekly.

Any dates supplied prior to the confirmed dispatch date/install date are estimates, we will confirm the estimated delivery and or install dates to you within 10 working days. We endeavour to stick to the supplied dates but staff shortages at the factory (such as sickness) can impact production timescales, as well as delivery of raw materials such as wood, glass, aluminium etc. The delivery/installation forecast is approximate, whilst every effort will be made by the company to adhere to these dates, we cannot be held liable in any way for any delay in delivery due to port delays, custom clearance issue, or manufacturing delays by any of our suppliers.

In the event of a delay on the part of the customer in receiving delivery, the Company will require full payment, along with any additional charges the company incurs as a result. The Company will absorb storage costs up to a maximum of 1 week after the forecasted/expected collection date from our supplier(s). Additional costs for storage will be advised, so that you are able to decide on storage. If the company organises storage for you, this is at additional cost, and we highly recommend taken insurance out on the goods to be stored. Ecowin accept no responsibility for any possible damage occurred whilst the goods are being stored.

12: The manufacturer acknowledges you the customer’s order within 7 days, placed via the company for production. This acknowledgement represents the company’s interpretation of the customer’s requirements and is what will be used by the manufacturer for production. Our interpretation of your requirements must be fully checked by you the customer for accuracy and signed and returned to sales@ecowin.co.uk.

Once you have signed the order for production, Ecowin ltd cannot be held liable for any errors on the products being supplied. It is imperative that the order document is checked, and we highly recommend discussing this us position by position before signing the order off for production. You can call us and or schedule a teams call to review the order.

The company have endeavoured to check the order with the customer to ensure it is as required and with the manufacturer prior to production. After the customer has signed the order off for production to commence, the company and the manufacturer are not responsible for incorrect items, unless these differ to what you the customer has signed off with the company for production.

The company will endeavour to ensure that building regulation requirements are met but it is the customers responsibility to check and ensure these are as required. Any specific design required for building regulation requirements are not included unless otherwise agree in writing.

If you the customer requires changes to the signed off order for production, it will result in the order being pulled from the production queue, amended and to you for confirmation (if required) and then returned to the production queue once the relevant changes are implemented and the change confirmed in writing.

This will impact any confirmed delivery / install dates supplied previously.

You have a maximum of 72 hours to advise the company of this requirement and accept that this will add time to the forecasted estimated delivery date. It may incur an administration fee. Otherwise, the order will be executed in terms of the acknowledgement as signed by you the customer.

13: Cancellations of orders within 7 days of the payment being received will be subject to deductions in costs incurred by the company, our partners such as currency suppliers and manufacturers. Payments made by you are immediately transferred to our currency supplier and not held on the company’s account for any more than 24 hours (48 hours at weekends).

14: All documents prior to the order confirmation are estimates or typical details unless otherwise advised in writing, including the estimated installation cost. Installation costs remain estimates until such times as our appointed installation sub-contractor attends site for a site inspection and or survey. The installation team will have a checklist to perform, and this will be required to be signed by you the customer to confirm acceptance for the installation and associated costs will be confirmed, if they differ from what the company estimated and the installer charges.

Window positions agreed with Ecowin Ltd prior to the installation teams visit are superseded by the agreed position with them.

14: Where the customer provides sizes and the company provides a proposal based on these sizes, no responsibility at all attaches to the company if the physical site sizes vary from those provided. Production sizes have a tolerance in size of plus or minus 3mm to 5mm.

15: The installations teams terms and conditions are applicable for the installation of the goods, unless installation is supplied by Ecowin Ltd. In case of disputes for installation/building related aspects, Ecowin are available for site visits at a fixed fee of £31.25 per hour, per person & after 8 hours £46.88 excluding travel and accommodation costs, which are payable by you the customer or the appointed installation team & responsibility of this must be agreed in writing prior to our attendance and paid prior to our attendance.

16: All services must be available on site for free use by the installation teams, if facilities are not available, please indicate prior to works commencing on site.

17: All quotations are valid for the time specified unless agreed otherwise. All estimates will need to be repriced prior to the order confirmation, delivery costs are subject to revision prior to dispatch due to the fluctuating costs. 

18: All Ecowin suppliers’ products are manufactured out with the UK and manufacturing times will vary. The company does not have any manufacturing sites in the UK. Estimated standard production times are supplied below and displayed purely to give an indication on estimated timescales. These can vary due to raw material delays, increased orders/production timescale, staff shortages, human interaction or technical drawings being required.

  • Zyle Fenster finger jointed windows / doors:  8/12 weeks
  • Zyle Fenster Curtain Walling: 12/20 weeks
  • Gaulhofer: 6 to 12 weeks, order dependant
  • Solarlux Bifold door: 8 weeks
  • Solarlux lift and slide doors: 8/9 weeks
  • Solarlux Cero sliding doors: 12/14 weeks

These are standard production times, supplied for reference only and not to be taken as confirmed timescale.
